It is interesting to note that journalists (I mean real ones), can find out the smallest pins in a haystack. Good journalists always seem to find something interesting to write about. Today, I saw the Mageek found out Intel doing publicity for Via ) I find it interesting that there are journalists like Magee who keep digging things, and let those rumour mills running. And there are a few others who find when our own Merissa also pushed the wrong button. But I wish PR guys had enough eyes, if journos can see it… why CANT YOU !!??

Limewire, the P2P guys running on the Gnutella file sharing network, have just launched a new online store for selling songs. This comes as a surprise that they have been allowed by a host of audio labels to sell DRM-free songs legally.Limewire has been employing different kinds of messages from sometime whenever one has to download something from another user. Actually, it checks if there is some kind of legal DRM attached to the song or not. But even if it was unverified as a legal song, people were allowed to share it. Similar was the state with other kinds of file types. The service seems to be still in testing and I guess decision from the sales will be made if it makes sense to continue with the service. The audio labels are still adapting to this new business model of the web and from our experience, its been a little tough convincing them.. I’m not Steve Jobs you see!! We would like to offer music to Chinese users, but then there has been some noise slowing down the entire thing…

Laptop Magazine talked to Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, the makers of almost every Windows Mobile device in the world. HTC has committed to making Google powered devices in the future. Peter is taking a few lessons from the iPhone is his new Google belief:

What is it about Android that is more consumer friendly?

Google is an Internet company so they are very good at the Internet experience. We have been working with Google for almost three years. Even before Google bought Android, we had conversations with Andy Rubin. We think the mobile Internet experience is horrible now in devices and we can now try innovating in this area. We are excited for the opportunity to work with Google since they have an in-depth knowledge of the Internet.

Do you think you can differentiate your Android-powered devices, like you have with Windows Mobile?

We will do it differently. Our strategy is that we think differentiation is very important. The hardware is one of the icons that people have an affiliation to.So, do you think it will be the industrial design that will help do that?Yes, industrial design and the user experience will be part of that.

What type of awesome mobile integration will Android allow? Dreaming is a wonderful thing, and a recent article by Read Write Web had a pretty vivid vision of what open source mobile platforms would mean in the near futureWhile they wrote their article in anticipation of the iPhone SDK launch, we’d like to thank them for the tremendous idea. They’ve got a tremendous understanding of what open source mobile software means for consumers… we’re just confident it will be better on Android.1) Reality Tagging. As their article explains, “Reality tagging will be like a distributed Google Earth, but for pictures.” Ummm… is explanation needed? That word “Google” kind of explains why Google Android might be best at this.3) People Tagging. The article states, “You can already take a picture and assign it to a contact. It is just a matter of time before these pictures will available to a search engine.” That search engine being Google. How long is it before you can snap a picture of someone with your mobile phone and depending on face recognition and current location, it narrows down who that person could be?Read About All the 12 Future Android Apps At Phandroid.
